Background
Andrew joined Johnson & Johnson in March 2001 having previously worked in-house dealing with costs for a Legal 500 law firm. Johnson & Johnson joined the Kain Knight Group towards the end of 2014. Andrew is the Office Manager for the St Austell office.
Andrew became an Associate of Law Costs Draftsmen in 2002, becoming a Fellow in 2004 and qualified as one of the first Costs Lawyers of the Association of Costs Lawyers with rights of audience in September 2007. He became an Accredited Mediator in April 2015.
Andrew acts for Claimants and Defendants dealing with professional and clinical negligence disputes as well as commercial and personal injury claims. Andrew also has experience in complex Arbitration Act cases, Inheritance Act cases, Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees cases, Court of Protection, costs out of Central funds and in respect of Civil and Criminal Legal Aid. He is an experienced advocate having represented clients in High Court, County Court and SCCO costs proceedings as well as in shipping arbitrations and in the Lands Tribunal. He has been engaged in the preparation of Form H Costs Budgets, their negotiation and also attending Costs Case Management hearings.
Andrew is an Accredited Trainer and provides seminars on costs topics.
The Legal 500 2025 say that Andrew Bennetts is an outstanding costs lawyer, who deals with the preparation of final bills of costs efficiently.
