Background
Steve has built a strong reputation in the legal costs sector since 2012, specialising in high-value and complex litigation. His experience spans catastrophic personal injury, brain injury, clinical negligence, industrial disease, and multi-party actions, with particular expertise in drafting bills of costs, budgets, replies to points of dispute, and negotiating favourable settlements.
Before joining Kain Knight, Steve was a Partner at a national law firm where he handled a wide range of costs litigation, including multi-million-pound brain injury cases and other catastrophic injury matters.
Role & Responsibilities
Steve is highly experienced in costs budgeting and costs management, detailed assessment proceedings, and enforcement of costs orders. His practice also includes fixed costs disputes and costs issues involving protected parties, where he has experience obtaining court approval of costs settlements.
Alongside his drafting and advocacy expertise, Steve has developed innovative approaches to process improvement in costs work. He has significant experience in data handling and streamlining workflows, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across large-scale cases.
